How to take a Screen-Shot with your iPhone or iTouch

3g-iphone_picture

This is probably the easiest and the simplest trick / tip but not many people know about it. Taking screenshots of the current screen on iPhone or iTouch is very handy and I personally had to use it many many times. Here is how you do it…

Press and hold the “HOME” button and then push down on the “SLEEP/WAKE” button on the top of the device, while still holding the “HOME” button. You will see your screen flash (White) and make a “SHUTTER” sound just like it does when you take a picture with your camera. Let go of the “HOME” button and that’s it… Your screen-shot is saved in PHOTOS>CAMERA ROLL

To get the photos off of the iPhone, you can e-mail them out, take them out by SSH into your iPhone, or import them into your computer as you would any other image in the Camera Roll.
