Fix, How to Enable Push Notifications on 3.1.2 Firmware iPhones 2G, 3G and 3GS

As many of you probably found out after Jailbreaking your 3.1.2 device that Push Notifications are not working on jailbroken and hacktivated iPhones (2G, 3G or 3GS). Following this tutorial will help you and how you how to enable Push Notification on your Jailbroken iPhone running firmware 3.1.2. NOTE: this works for Jailbroken devices that are running 3.1 firmware as well.

NOTE: You must have a Jailbroken iPhone in order to use this feature…

BEFORE YOU START::: There shouldn’t be any “push-capable apps” installed on your iPhone, you need to uninstall all Push-capable apps from your iPhone, if there are any.

Tap / Start Cydia Installer, once in Cydia go to Manage Tab (located at the bottom) and touch Sources (big button in the middle)
NOTE: You will be adding a repository / source (iPhoneil) in Cydia

Tap on Edit (at the top right corner) and then tap Add (at the top left corner) You will be asked to enter Cydia/APT URL source as you see it in the screen-shot below. Type  http://cydia.iphoneil.net and then tap Add Source button. Once source is added press Return to Cydia button and then tap Done button.

Once you have competed the step above and the source is added tap on Search Tab (located at the bottom) and search for Push Fix, you should see it on your screen just like the example below shows it.

Once you see it one the screen / in the search result tap on it. At the next screen tap Install button and then Confirm button (at the top right corner).

Once the “Push Fix” app is installed you will need to Restart your iPhone before you install any “push-capable apps” your iPhone.

    So I followed the instructions but there is no “push fix” to download from that source. Was it removed?

    Nope, there is no “push fix” in iphoneil repo :(

    This push fix does not work, even if it is available. It was taken out of the repo cuz of its many problems.

    Try the source “http://sinfuliphonerepo.com” then follow the same steps listed in this post. You should have it then
