GeoHot Unlocks The iPhone with 05.11.07 Baseband (a.k.a. Modem Firmware)
George Hotz (aka geohot), the kid who was the first to unlock the original iPhone back in 2007 and then iPhone 3GS in July of this year is back! He was also the first one to release jailbreaking solution for the new iPhone 3.1.2 Firmware for all devices with his new program/tool called blackra1n.
blackra1n is a software tool which can jailbreak all iPhone’s (iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS) and iPod Touch 2G and 3G running on the latest firmware / OS 3.1.2.
This time he came out with another solution called Blacksn0w which unlocks the latest 05.11.07 Baseband / Modem firmware.
blacksn0w will be an integral part of the upcoming version of blackra1n which will be released on 4th November 2009 and it will work on both the iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS with 05.11.07 baseband.
This news should surely be a big sigh of relief for all those of you who have accidently upgraded to the stock iPhone 3.1.2 firmware from iTunes resulting in a locked iPhone with 05.11.07 baseband.
Stay tuned as we’ll be posting complete step-by-step unlocking instructions as soon as the new version of blackra1n with blacksn0w is out on 4th November.

what about iphone 2g?
@joe
The 2G iPhone is not affected by the 05.11.07 basebands… If you need to Jailbreak and Unlock your 2G Running 3.1 or 3.1.2 click link below and use this kit to do it…
