TinyUmbrella has been updated to Version 4.02.04. It is important to save SHSH Blobs (ECID SHSH) files of your iPhones iOS 4.0.2, iPod Touch Devices and iPad 3.2.2 Devices so you can easily downgrade later on if you ever get in a bind.

As always, I can not stress this fact enough but… If you have your SHSH blobs on file, you can downgrade from a higher iOS back to iOS 4.0.2, 4.0.1 or earlier should you need to.

This version of TinyUmbrella is also compatible with iPad OS 3.2.2 and you can now also save your iPad’s blobs using this software. I do “very strongly” recommend you to save your SHSH blobs because this is the only way identified yet which will allow you to downgrade your iDevice’s software to previous versions.

Use the step by step guide posted below to save your SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) of iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 2G/3G on iOS 4.0.2 and iPad without having to jailbreak your device.

Step 1: Download the latest version of  TinyUmbrella for Windows, Mac or Linux. (Download links listed above)

Step 2: Make sure you are running iTunes > 9.0. iTunes 9.2 or higher is recommended.

Step 3: Start the program and plug in any ONE of the supported iDevices (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch).

Step 4: Click on “Save My SHSH”,  TinyUmbrella will now grab the signature for you.

It will be enabled again once a ticket has been generated to save it to saurik’s server.

This is it ! You should be safe now. Make sure you save the signature for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on file before Apple releases the next firmware. TinyUmbrella is very easy to use and most importantly it will save you A$$ in future should you ever have to downgrade again.
