Come to find out our boy Geohot has another untethered jailbreak exploit that he held back from Limera1n to prevent Apple from learning about it.

Incase you were wondering why Geohot used a userland exploit from Comex to make Limera1n untethered, it was because he did not wanted to waste his untethered version of bootrom exploit.

Both Comex and MuscleNerd has confirmed that Geohot has in his possession a new untethered bootrom level exploit which can be used to pwn future iOS devices like iPhone 5 and iPad 2G for life.

The exploit is at the iBoot level and could have been used to make Limera1n untethered; however, Geohot used @comex’s untether for Limera1n so that his exploit could be saved for possible use in the future.

What does this all mean? The future hacking/jailbreaking of iOS devices looks very bright.

We now have 2 powerful bootrom exploits one from Geohot and the other by Chronic Dev called SHAtter and along with comex’s mad skills with userland exploits the jailbreaking fun is here to stay.
