Mac OS X Lion and the Mac App Store

During the Apple’s October Back to the Mac Event Apple gave a sneak peek of Mac OS X Lion, the eighth major release of the company’s operating system. Shipping next summer, Lion is inspired by many of iPad’s software innovations.

Today’s sneak peek highlighted just a few of Lion’s features, including the Mac App Store, a new way to discover, install and automatically update desktop apps; Launchpad, a new home for all of your Mac apps; system-wide support for full screen apps; and Mission Control, which unifies Exposé, Dashboard, Spaces and full screen apps into an innovative new view of everything running on your Mac, and allows you to instantly navigate anywhere.

“Lion brings many of the best ideas from iPad back to the Mac, plus some fresh new ones like Mission Control that Mac users will really like,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Lion has a ton of new features, and we hope the few we had time to preview today will give users a good idea of where we are headed.” Read more…

Apple Introduces New and Improved MacBook Air

During the Apple’s October Back to the Mac Event the company has unveiled an all new MacBook Air, the first of a next generation of notebooks which will replace mechanical hard disks and optical drives with Internet services and solid state flash storage.

These next generation notebooks are:
● faster—solid state flash storage is up to twice as fast as hard drive storage
● more reliable—hard drive crashes are eliminated
● lighter and smaller—solid state flash storage is up to 90 percent smaller and lighter than hard drives

Available in 11-inch and 13-inch models and weighing as little as 2.3 pounds, the new MacBook Air is Apple’s lightest and most portable notebook ever.

MacBook Air uses the same solid state storage technology as iPad to deliver instant-on responsiveness, up to seven hours of battery life and up to 30 days of standby time. Starting at $999, the affordable MacBook Air defines the next generation of MacBooks. Read more…

Apple Brings FaceTime to the Mac and it’s available right now as a FREE Download

Apple Brings FaceTime to the Mac

During the Apple’s October Back to the Mac Event the company has announced the public beta of FaceTime for Mac, an entirely new application that allows Mac users to video call iPhone 4 and iPod touch users as well as other Macs.

Featuring an easy to use interface, FaceTime for Mac automatically uses your Address Book contacts so there’s no need to create special buddy lists, and it works seamlessly with the built-in camera and mic on Mac notebooks, iMac and Apple LED Cinema Displays.

“FaceTime makes video calling to or from mobile devices easy for the first time,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’ve sold more than 19 million FaceTime-ready iPhone 4 and iPod touch devices in the past four months, and now those users can make FaceTime calls with tens of millions of Mac users.” Read more…

This version of PwnageTool also supports hacktivation so you don’t have to have original SIM in your device to have it up and running after the jailbreak.

The iPhone Dev-Team has released PwnageTool 4.1 which adds supports for the Apple TV 2G and jailbreaks iOS 4.1 This version of PwnageTool that brings custom firmware bundles and jailbreaking to most iDevices.

This version of PwnageTool 4.1 brings support the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, the iPod 2G, 3G, 4G, the iPad, and the Apple TV 2.

Apple Back to The Mac event

Just like the last event, Apple is once again going to stream their “Back to the Mac” event live.

You will have to have either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard, an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad to watch the streaming.

Apple’s October ‘Back to the Mac’ event will start at 10am PT and 1:00pm ET. I will be live blogging as much as possible on this event. Read more…

Apple has inadvertently leaked confirmation of iLife ’11, an updated MacBook Air, and possibly a new product. As usual this normally happens right before any type of Apple event.

Google, RIM and TweetDeck have all responded to critical comments made by Steve Jobs during Apple’s Q4 conference call

RIM, Google and TweetDeck respond

After Steve Jobs Slammed Google’s Android, RIM, Rival Tablet Makers and also talked about the TweetDeck durring the Apple’s Q4 conference call all mentioned companies have been responding back with their comments on the whole Steve Jobs Rant against them.

Google, RIM and TweetDeck have all responded to critical comments made by Steve Jobs during Apple’s Q4 conference call.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs took five good minutes to trash Google’s Android platform on its “openness”, fragmentation, tablet capabilities, and a variety of other things. He also had a stat bomb to drop. Again.
