Cydia is Now Ready for iOS 4.2 Jailbreak, Waiting on Apple to Release new iOS 4.2

Cydia is Now Ready for iOS 4.2 Jailbreak !

Last week I notified all you guys about the Cydia incompatibility with the new iOS 4.2 firmware from Apple and that it was being worked on by Saurik (Jay Freeman) and other people (chpwn) to get it up to speed and have everything ready for new iOS 4.2 release

According to chpwn and his recent tweet the Cydia is now ready for the new Apple iOS 4.2 firmware, all work has been completed and all we are waiting for is Apple iOS 4.2 Release.

esmandau: @chpwn how’s Cydia for iOS 4.2 Going….! #Thanks “For Just Reading Me”

chpwn: @esmandau In ready position.

Cydia is Now Ready for iOS 4.2 Jailbreak !

Due to many API changes in iOS 4.2, Saurik and other folks (chpwn) had to pretty much re-write the entire Cydia installer and modify many options and features which we reported about last week.

There is no official announcement on what the update will include, so let’s put our speculative hats on for a moment: maybe we’ll finally get to see Rock integration?

With that being said, we really don’t know what exactly has been added to Cydia and will not be able to see any of these changes until Apple released the new iOS 4.2 to general public for download and of course the new Apple iTunes 10.1. All we have at this point is a screenshot of new GUI, you can see it and read about it in this post (Click Here)

Good news is the Cydia is ready… Now all we have to do is wait for Apple to release iOS 4.2 to public which has been rescheduled again and this time we’re looking at November 16 for this update to be pushed by Apple due to a very serious problem with WiFi in iOS 4.2.

I just wrote an article on this issue, you find these news HERE in this post.

All of us will also have to wait for Comex to implement his very well known Userland Expoloit  so that Geohot’s Limera1n can be extended beyond iOS 4.1 for a new Full Untethered Jailbreak.

There are still other reasons you may want to hold off on upgrading to iOS 4.2. Read this for more details.
