How to Unlock the iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G Using UltraSn0w – 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, 06.15.00, or 01.59 Baseband (Modem Firmware)
Hey guys, here are instructions on how to unlock the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G for use with any GSM cellphone carrier using UltraSn0w. This will work with the iOS 4.2.1 firmware if you are on the 06.15.00 baseband.
Before you can follow these instructions you must have a jailbroken iPhone and you must be on the 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, 06.15.00, or 01.59 baseband (modem firmware).
To find your firmware and modem firmware (baseband) versions you can go to SETTINGS>>>GENERAL>>>ABOUT and look at the Modem Firmware Field.
NOTE: If you are on T-Mobile remember to turn off 3G before starting…
First thing you will have to do is launch Cydia and add a repository, also known as REPO or a Source… The source you will be adding is http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/
NOTE: If you are a new user and don’t know what sources are or how to add them then follow all the steps listed below. If you know how to add Sources / Repositories then you can skip this section.
So let begin, to add a Source / Repository / Repo you will have to do the following;
- Open Cydia again and Press MANAGE TAB Located at the bottom of the screen
- Press the SOURCES button.
- Press EDIT button at the top right corner
At this point, after you press EDIT button you will see another button at the top left corner;
• Press ADD button on the left top corner
• You will see a window open up asking you to “Enter Cydia / APT URL”
Now all you have to do is type in the http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/ in to the APT URL field and then press the Add Source button.
After you do the step listed above you will see a black installation screen and once the installation is completed you will be asked to “Return To Cydia” tap on this button.
You will be taking back to Cydia, you will see another button at the top right corner Done… Tap Done button to continue.
After installation completes successfully press the large Restart Springboard button. You should now be able to insert the SIM of your choice!
