Alright guys, up to this point many of you had a lot of issues with MyWi 4.9.10 installation and my previous tutorial was little bit tough for some of you. This MyWi 4.9.10 tutorial is super easy to follow and I promise you by the time you get to the last step you will have fully functional MyWi 4.9.10 running on your iPhone or iPad 3G.

In this tutorial I will show you how you can install fully functional MyWi 4.9.10 Tethering Application on your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G, this version of MyWi 4.9.10 also works for iPad 3G so you here is you can get it for free without paying a penny for it.

By the time you complete this tutorial you will be tethering your brains out all day and all night, as long as you wish, and the best part about it is; it’s 100% FREE!!! This is a very simple tutorial and should not be hard to follow.

MyWi 4.9.10 was released in the middle of November which included these updates:

Faster performance
Lower battery consumption
Choose the In Use Indicator that you want: – Status bar icon (no battery use) – Blue pulsing bar (10% – 15% more battery)
Adjust the WiFi transmit power (Between 30% and 100%)
Battery consumption meter
USB Bridge mode. (Connect your laptop over USB to the phones 3G or WiFi connection!), Finally make use of all that free WiFi your iPhone/iPad gets!

I used to like this app there is one bad thing about this application; MyWi 4.9.10 has a $19.99 purchase price, and a $9.99 upgrade price which is little much if you ask me. I think the developer of this app should lower the price below $9 so it will be more affordable to a lot more people.

I don’t have any problems paying $20 bucks but now it’s all about the principle for me. I have cracked previous versions of this app and this version is no different.

UPDATE!!!

MyWi 4.9.10 is not the Only Wireless / WiFi Hot Spot Application out there; there is a great alternative to MyWi and it does an amazing job with the WiFi Tethering. The App is called PDANet 4.18 and I have a detailed tutorial and download for the cracked .deb file for it.

Don’t waste your time on MyWi, it was the only WiFi HotSpot tethering application for a long time but now the PDANet 4.18 kicks MyWi’s ASS and works much better.

THINGS YOU WILL NEED

If you’re using PC you have to have/download WinSCP(If you don’t know what WinSCP is please Read This Article)

If you’re using Mac you have to have /download CyberDuck(Same as WinSCP but for Mac)

Make sure you have OpenSSH installed and running on your iPhone(If you don’t know what OpenSSH is please Read This Article)

You have to Download mywi4_4.9.10.deb File and Save it to your Computer

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!!!

NOTE #1: Before you begin this tutorial / installation you will have to REMOVE / UNINSTALL any other older versions (previously installed) from your iPhone or iPad.

NOTE #2: MyWi 4.9.10 will NOT Work, Download or Install if you have any other Tethering Apps installed on your iPhone. So if you have PDANet 4.18 installed on your iPhone then you will not be able to install MyWi 4.9.10 unless you remove/uninstall the PDANet 4.18 from your system.

NOTE#3: Before you go any further with this tutorial you have to install the dependency for this version of MyWi from Cydia. You will be installing “IntelliStatusBarIcon” package. Then move on to the rest of the tutorial.

CRITICAL STEP: First thing you will have to do is go in to Cydia and Search for “IntelliStatusBarIcon” package, once you find it, go ahead and tap on Install Button at the top right corner and then tap on Confirm button at the top right corner to install this package.

You must install this package before installing / going forward with this MyWi installation because IntelliStatusBarIcon package is a dependency for the MyWi 4.9.10 .deb and you have to have it on your device in order for MyWi to work without crashing.

Once you find and install the above mentioned package in Cydia you can move forward with the MyWi 4.9.10 installation listed below.

MYWI 4.9.10 INSTALLATION TUTORIAL!!!

Go ahead and download the MyWi 4.9.10.deb File and Save it to your computer. You can download this file from HERE or at the bottom of this tutorial.

Start WinSCP and connect to iPhone. In host name field, type in the IP address of your iPhone. Make sure the port number is set to “22” by default this option is already set to 22 but in case it’s not then change it.

For user name use “root” and for password use “alpine” (NOTE: This user name and password is the same for all iPhones and iTouch iPods ever made by Apple). Don’t worry about any other fields or options.

Once you have logged in to your iPhone, browse to private/var/mobile directory.

Copy/Move the “mywi4_4.9.10.deb” to your iPhone in this directory: private/var/mobile

Now while in the WinSCP go to Commands Menu at the top and then select “Open Terminal” or just press “Control + T” on your keyboard to open the Terminal window.

Once the Terminal Window opens up, you will need to type in this command into the “Enter Command” field… Type in dpkg -i mywi4_4.9.10.deb and then press the Execute button.

NOTE: you have to type the name of the file exactly as you see it on the file name. If there are capital letters in the .deb file name then you have to use the same type of format when typing in the “dpkg -i” command in the Terminal
