Your all done, four simple steps saves your SHSH Blobs /hashes locally on your computer and it also sends a request for them to be saved on Sauriks servers (Cydia). You don’t have to worry about anything anymore just go on about your business.
Now a lot of you still probably don’t know what these are for, so let me tell you what’s up.
Apple at one time use to let you restore to any firmware you wanted back in the 3.x days. When the new idevices came out along with iOS 4.x Apple stopped letting you restore to any firmware you wanted to. Basically they tell you that if anything goes wrong with your idevice you have to restore to what they allow you to which is the latest firmware available at that present time.
Having your SHSH blob files for older firmwares saved locally and remotely on Cydia lets you restore to that older firmware even when the new 4.2 or higher iOS firmware is out. Remember, normally Apple doesn’t let you restore to the old firmwares and only allows you to restore to the latest firmware available.
Long story short, doing this show procedure will let you downgrade your firmware in case you accidentally updated to a firmware that isn’t jailbreakable.
Here are two perfect examples / articles I wrote back when Spirit Jailbreak came out and to block this Jailbreak Apple came out with new iOS 4.1 update so people who updated their iPad or iPhone were stuck UNLESS they had their SHSH blobs saved.
Check out these two articles, so if this will happen to you and you accidentally update your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch you can do something similar to these tutorials to get back to the previous iOS version and re-Jailbreak your device again.
