iOS 4.3 is Confirmed to Bring Personal Hotspot Feature to All iPhones (GSM) Just like Verizon CDMA iPhone 4

Hey guys, yesterday I wrote and article about a possibility of upcoming release of Apple iOS 4.3 which would reportedly bring the Personal Hotspot feature to GSM iPhones just like the feature on Verizon announced CDMA iPhone 4.

A source who is close to / knows “RedmondPie” (who wishes to remain anonymous) has informed RedmondPie that iOS 4.3 will indeed bring the “Personal Hotspot” feature to all iPhones in March this year.

This new feature was introduced yesterday with the announcement of Verizon iPhone 4, running the new iOS 4.2.5.

If and when this feature will make it into the GSM iPhone (AT&T) then everyone will be able to tether / connect to their iPhones without the need for apps like MyWi or PDANet

In my opinion, if this feature will be rolled out in upcoming iOS 4.3, many people will not Jailbreak their iPhones or iPad because a lot of folks jailbreak their devices just for this purpose alone.

There are many benefits from Jailbreaking but I thing majority of new iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users going for the Jailbreak just for the ability to tether their devices.

Amazing how Apple gives me less and less reason to Jailbreak with every OS version. Still, the flexibility to do whatever/whenever with a device and software that I own is something I’m not willing to leave on the table…yet.
