Watch Free TV On Your iPad 2 with EyeTV Mobile Dongle
Hey guys, Elgato has announced the EyeTV Mobile dongle that lets you watch live TV on your iPad 2 which seems to be a lot cheaper (if you are an iPad junkie) than paying for cable.
The diminutive dongle – called the EyeTV Mobile – clips onto the popular fondleslab’s dock connector and pulls down digital TV signals through a telescopic micro-antenna.
Power comes from its own on-board battery, charged over a separate USB connection.
Not just Freeview – it’ll work with any MPEG 2 streams sent out over DVB-T. Alas, it doesn’t support Freeview HD/DVB-T2.
EyeTV Mobile is made specifically for your iPad 2. Simply connect it to the dock connector and open the EyeTV Mobile app (available on the App Store). The television signal comes straight from the miniature telescopic aerial so you don’t need an internet connection. You get unlimited live TV on your iPad 2 without touching your data plan.
