Know Your Mobile claims to have learned that Apple will announce the ‘iPhone 5′ on August 7th. At this point I’m treating it as a rumor but these claims have been getting more and more frequent in the iDevice community so you decide what to think.
A reliable industry source who wishes to remain anonymous revealed to Know Your Mobile that Apple’s highly-anticipated and much-rumoured iPhone 5 will be launched via a keynote speech on August 7.
The new date correlates with reports from earlier in the month the iPhone 5′s release had been brought forward from October to August.
Apple announced the iPhone 4S on October 4th of last year but hasn’t given any indication of when it might announce an update to its popular smartphone.
There is currently no detail on specifics or availability: Recent rumors suggest a smartphone with an aluminum back panel and a larger Retina display (something like four inches), along with a next-generation chip technology NFC. In addition to these specs, we also expect a significant change in terms of design: the latest in Apple, iPhone 4S.
The iPhone 5 also will debut the new IOS 6, presented June 11 at WWDC in San Francisco, which should introduce some new improvements to address the latest rivals Infinite Loop 1: Windows 8 Phone and Android 4.1 (codename, Jelly Bean).
Of course, being an unconfirmed report, please take it in a safe (which is why we have classified as “rumor”): if there was any news on the story, we’ll update you!
