Boy Genius Report claims that Apple’s CDMA/Verizon iPhone has just hit “AP” status which means the device is currently being field tested and is rocking final hardware. This is the final step before the final software gets loaded on the device and this is the step right before retail.

For comparison, this is the stage after the stage of Gizmodo’s iPhone 4 prototype. So, we’re clearly pretty close to that Verizon iPhone if BGR’s sources know what they’re talking about – they usually do. One important feature of this CDMA iPhone is a SIM card slot. BGR speculates that this Verizon iPhone will be the CDMA/GSM model. Or, the SIM card could be for international users.

BGR also states, that this iPhone 3,2 may not even be the CDMA iPhone, but just an improved iPhone 4 without the antenna issues. – This would be a major party buster though. Read more…

Well, it finally happened!!! AT&T is losing their grip on Apple Exclusive Product lines such as iPhone and iPad. According to CNN Verizon Wireless will begin selling Apple’s iPad at its 2,000 retail stores nationwide on Oct. 28, the companies announced Thursday.

You’ll be able to buy the iPad at 2,000 Verizon Wireless stores nationwide. (Is this the precursor to Verizon getting the iPhone next year, as recent reports suggest?)

Interestingly, consumers won’t have access to the iPad 3G. Instead, if you want one from Verizon, you could buy an iPad Wi-Fi version plus a Verizon MiFi mobile hotspot. The hotspot uses Verizon’s 3G network and generates a Wi-Fi hotspot that you can then use the iPad with. From the press release:

Verizon Wireless will offer three bundles, all featuring an iPad Wi-Fi model and a Verizon MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, for a suggested retail price of $629.99 for iPad Wi-Fi 16GB + MiFi, $729.99 for iPad Wi-Fi 32GB + MiFi and $829.99 for iPad Wi-Fi 64GB + MiFi. Verizon Wireless is offering a monthly access plan to iPad customers of up to 1GB of data for just $20 a month. In addition, Verizon Wireless will also offer all three iPad Wi-Fi models on a stand-alone basis.

The move ends AT&T’s exclusive grip as the wireless carrier for Apple’s wildly popular tablet, and potentially sets the stage for a broader partnership between Apple and Verizon. The two are widely rumored to be preparing to bring Apple’s iPhone to Verizon’s network in early 2011.

Apple has developed a fix for the daylight savings bug in iOS 4.1 and it will be released in an upcoming software update. According to ZDNET, the bug causes recurring alarms to go off an hour early than the actual set time.

I got really lucky this afternoon when I called three of our local Apple Stores asking them the same questions I have been asking for past 2 weeks; “Do you have any new Apple TV 2010 / 2nd Generation Models in Stock?” and everyday I have gotten the same answer back; “Sorry Sir, we’re sold out and have no idea when the next shipment will come in“.

Today was my lucky day, after calling three different Apple Stores I have decided to give it another try. One of the Apple stores just received a shipment of the new Apple TV units and I was one of the lucky customers who just happened to be close enough to this particular store to get one.

Today the WSJ reported that Apple will begin production of a Verzion iPhone this year, and that the fifth generation iPhone will have a new form factor.

The new iPhone would be similar in design to the iPhone 4 currently sold by AT&T Inc. but would be based on an alternative wireless technology called CDMA used by Verizon, these people said. The phone, for which Qualcomm Inc. is providing a key chip, is expected to be released in the first quarter of next year, according to the same people.

Separately, Apple is also developing a new iPhone model, said people briefed on the matter. One person familiar with the new iPhone plan said the fifth-generation iPhone will be a different form factor from those that are currently available. It was unclear how soon that version will be available to Verizon
