Fist thing I want to say is “I’m Sorry” for not posting any news on iPhoneTechie site, especially news about the new iPhone 4, Jailbreak for iPhone 4, How to Jailbreak iOS4 or Unlock the iPhone 05.12.01 Basebands on iPhone 2G, 3G or iPhone 3GS.

We had a family reunion at Ocean City Maryland all week this week so I was pretty busy playing in the sand with my son (Lukas) and getting some sun with my awesome (HOT) wife Katie and chilling with the family of course. We did some fishing, eating, playing, swimming, etc.

PS: Fishing SUCKED because all I caught was a “STING RAY”… Great fight but not a keeper, naturally this bastard swallowed the hook, so by the time I got it out the STING RAY was “DEAD” See Picture below… (CLICK to see a full image)

It WAS a hectic week but I don’t regret a thing about it. Family comes FIRST in my house and that’s why iPhoneTechie was put on hold for a week. I’m back now so get ready for some major updates, news, Jailbreak Tutorials and much more.

My iPhone 4 will be shipped on July 2nd and once I get that thing in my hands I will do the complete unboxing video and other tutorials and “RAW” sample images and videos as well.

Awesome news for Facebook users who either own an iPhone, iPod and especially an iPad. Facebook has finally taken the big step, all the videos on Facebook are now in MP4 format, so that means you can now view them directly on your beloved iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

Watching videos on Facebook is as easy as 1,2,3… All you have to do is click a any desired videos and that’s it.

Many people thought Facebook.com rolled out the new HTML 5 to display the videos but instead the videos are transcoded into an MP4 Format for Apple devices to view.

In our tests this morning, it appears that Facebook isn’t actually using HTML5 to display the videos. Instead, what appears to be going on is that Facebook.com is detecting that you’ve arrived to the website via the Safari web browser on the iPad. When you then attempt to play a video on the iPad, it doesn’t play inline (something that would have been a clear confirmation of an HTML5 implementation). Instead, Facebook is linking out to the actual video, transcoded to MP4, a video format that plays on Apple devices.

We confirmed this by uploading a video file to Facebook in WMV format (a non-iPad compatible video format) and then attempting to play it on the iPad. It played as an MP4 file.

In past 6 Months, iPhoneTechie.com has grown from a rather small “blog type” site into a very busy / high traffic website.

It was a lot of fun starting this blog and running it on daily basis but with the amount of traffic, news, downloads, tutorials, etc. it is becoming little hectic to administer.

As you can probably see, I have not been updating or posting much of anything on this blog for couple of weeks now…

Between December 1st 2009 and January 31st 2010 there were 1203 comments through out the site — Thats ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED THREE COMMENTS!!! All comments have to be approved by me before they can be posted (Because of SPAM) so as you can only imagine it takes a lot of time just to do that…

To continue providing same Services, Content, Tutorials, News, Downloads, etc. I will be moving iPhoneTechie.com to a much robust engine and making it into a CMS (Content Management System) instead of a blog. The CMS Engine I chose is Joomla!!!

With Joomla 1.5 I can implement a lot of new and different features and many useful extensions can be added to the site for the ultimate end user (YOU) experience.

Once the new site is up and running you will be able to see a Big difference in many ways. Loading time will be a lot faster, related articles will come up as you browse through each article, downloads will be easier to administer and much simpler to find.

Last year and for the last couple of months, there were lot of speculations about the Apple’s upcoming tablet device. Some of them were controversial and some were legit but the at the end of the day Apple came through once again and made something more advanced than anything out there.

This morning, Steve Jobs finally brought an end to all the rumors by unveiling iPad at Yara Buena Center in San Francisco. Here is what you all need to know about Apple iPad.

• Will run all of your existing iPhone Apps and Games
• iBooks – Book Store like Amazon
• iWorks Suite of Apps
• .5 inches thin and weighs 1.5 lbs
• 9.7 inch IPS Capacitive multitouch display
• 1GHz proc Apple A4 chip (PA Semi!)

• 802.11n WiFi, BT 2.1 and Compass
• 10 hrs working battery life, 1 month standby

As of yet, there were no indications on the notifications, multitasking and phone calls.

iPad comes in two models, with and without 3G. Price details are as follows. WiFi model will be available at retail in 60 days time while the one with WiFi+3G will be available in 90 days from today.

The details on upcoming iPhone OS 4.0 have been leaked and now some of these details are posted on BoyGeniousReport.

Here are some of the details / iPhone OS 4.0 features according the their trusted source;

• There will be multi-touch gestures OS-wide. (Would make sense for that as the rumored OS for the iTablet is close if not the same as the iPhone)

• “A few new ways” to run applications in the background — multitasking.

• Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient. We haven’t had this broken down, but we can only hope for improved notifications, a refreshed homescreen, etc.

• The update will supposedly be available for only the iPhone 3G and 3GS, but will “put them ahead in the smartphone market because it will make them more like full-fledged computers” more than any other phone to date. Everyone is “really excited.”

• The last piece of information is the most vague, but apparently there will be some brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.

The upcoming iPhone OS 4.0 firmware is expected to be announced at Apple’s special event on January 27th
