iOS 4.3 is Confirmed to Bring Personal Hotspot Feature to All iPhones (GSM) Just like Verizon CDMA iPhone 4

Hey guys, yesterday I wrote and article about a possibility of upcoming release of Apple iOS 4.3 which would reportedly bring the Personal Hotspot feature to GSM iPhones just like the feature on Verizon announced CDMA iPhone 4.

A source who is close to / knows “RedmondPie” (who wishes to remain anonymous) has informed RedmondPie that iOS 4.3 will indeed bring the “Personal Hotspot” feature to all iPhones in March this year.

This new feature was introduced yesterday with the announcement of Verizon iPhone 4, running the new iOS 4.2.5. Read more…

Difference Between AT&T GSM iPhone 4 and Verizon CDMA iPhone 4

Earlier today, Verizon announced the much awaited arrival of iPhone 4 on their CDMA network.

As you know by now, feature wise the new Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 is exactly the same iPhone 4 which was launched back in June on AT&T’s GSM network.

To make it work on a CDMA network, Apple naturally had to make some changes. These changes are very minor and very hard to spot at first, most of them were required to make the Apple iPhone 4 work on a CDMA network. Read more…

Verizon Will Carry the Apple iPhone 4 Starting in February of 2011 [Confirmed]

Verizon today announced that it will finally be carrying the Apple iPhone 4 at a press event in New York City.

“Today we’re partnering with a giant of the industry, and that’s Apple.”

“Our relationship with Apple has developed over the last two years. In 2008 we started talking about bringing the iPhone to a CDMA network. We spent a year testing.”

“Late in 2010 we started offering the iPad… today, we are extremely gratified to announce that the iPhone 4 will be available early next month.”

Live Coverage of Verizon's Media Event, Verizon iPhone Expected

REFRESH YOUR BROWSER!!!

As we all know, today Verizon is holding a media event where it is widely expected to announce that it will begin offering the iPhone, marking the end of AT&T’s exclusive distribution for the device in the United States.

Of course, there’s always a chance that Verizon just wants to reveal more details on LTE, or talk about the company’s commitment to openness and Android… but according to the rumor mill, it’s time for Big Red to get some Apple magic.

The event is scheduled to kick off at Lincoln Center in New York City at 11:00 AM Eastern Time, or a little under 30 minutes from now.

Verizon does not appear to be providing live video or audio coverage of the event, and thus observers will have to rely primarily on text and photo updates coming out of the event.

It is a speculation / rumor (still) that Verizon is expected to introduce the long-rumored Verizon iPhone at their press conference today. No one really knows what will go down at this Media Event but we’re here to cover it and see where it goes.

Redsn0w 0.9.7 Beta 6 Brings Skype Fix, Next Version Will Use 4.1 SHSH Blobs Instead Of 4.2b3 For 4.2.1 Untether

Hey guys, yet another version of the Redsn0w 0.9.7 Beta 6 was released by the iPhone Dev-Team and this version fixes all Skype related issues which were hampering users ever since the first beta of this untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak.

The iPhone Dev-Team has updated RedSn0w to fix issues with Skype after performing the ‘backup plan’ untether.

The sixth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). This version fixes Skype (and as expected all along, the Skype issue turns out to be unrelated to sandbox patches). Please do not pirate the 4.2b3 IPSW! Only those enrolled in the iPhone Developer program have legitimate access to that IPSW using these links (the links won’t work unless you’re a legit developer currently logged in). Read more…

GreenPois0n Will Be Untethered For iOS 4.2.1 On Release, Will Not Require 4.2b3 SHSH Blobs

Instead of releasing another tethered version (like Redsn0w 0.9.6) of GreenPois0n for iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak, members of Chronic Dev have decided to work on their own untethered solution for iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak.

The Chronic Dev-Team is working on their own untether for the iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak that will not require iOS4.2b3 SHSH blobs, according to tweets made today by p0sixninja.

When asked if it is the same exploit as the one Comex has been working on, and whether or not it will require SHSH blobs for 4.2b3 like Redsn0w 0.9.7. Joshua said that they are working on their own untethered exploit, and that it will not require SHHS blobs for 4.2b3. Read more…

Steve Jobs to Appear at Verizon iPhone Event? (Gizmodo Not Invited)

The Wall Street Journal has just weighed in to confirm that the Verizon event, which is happening on 11th January is indeed going to be for the long-awaited Verizon iPhone 4.
Steve Jobs will likely make an appearance at what is predicted to be a Verizon iPhone event, according to Digital Daily.

While the appearance isn’t 100 percent assured, sources in a position to know tell me that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, Jobs will likely join McAdam onstage in New York when he announces the addition of the iPhone to its handset lineup. Read more…
