iPhone Dev-Team Releases iOS 4.2.1 Unlock for iPhone 3G, 3GS (PLEASE READ!!!)

As promised the iPhone Dev-Team has released the iOS 4.2.1 unlock for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.

Please read this announcement very carefully and understand the consequences you might face if something goes wrong…

Today we’re pleased to announce our free carrier unlock for iPhone3G/3GS owners with a baseband later than 05.13.04. The unlock for that baseband exploited the AT+XAPP command, thanks to a crash initially discovered by @sherif_hashim (@Oranav also found this crash). So what hole are we exploiting today, since Apple closed that AT+XAPP hole? Well, we’re exploiting the exact same hole! Read more…

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Hey guys, this is  just a quick post to say Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I thank all of you for coming to my site on daily basis, commenting, writing, asking questions, etc.

I will be out of town for couple of days visiting my family and celebrating Thanksgiving with both families (my Family and my Wife’s Family) so I will probably not be updating the site during these days.

When I comeback though; I will be posting some very neat tutorials for Cydia apps, New Cracked .deb files, Tools, Utilities and much more. Stay Tuned and have a great Thanksgiving.

Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 for iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak Now Available for Download

As expected and promised, the iPhone Dev-Team has released a new version of RedSn0w 0.9.6b4 to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1.

As I told you guys before, this Resn0w 0.9.6b4  jailbreak is currently tethered for most devices except for the iPhone3G, older iPhone3GS, and non-MC iPod touch 2G. If you don’t know what that means then read my little explanation at the end of this post.

Comex is working on a way to untether the jailbreak for newer devices but it will require you to have your 4.1 SHSH blobs in order to use it. I have been telling all of you guys about saving your SHSH Blobs for weeks now… Unless you have your SHSH blobs saved you will not be able to have the Untethered Jailbreak.

Both Cydia (within redsn0w 0.9.6b4) and MobileSubstrate (install via Cydia) are now 4.2.1 compatible. Read more…

Greenpois0n Will Be Updated to Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 Within a Few Days

The well known iPhone developer and hacker Joshua Hill of the Chronic Dev Team has provided an ETA for the arrival of updated GreenPois0n jailbreak tool for the newly released iOS 4.2.1 firmware.

For those of you who don’t know, GreenPois0n is based on Geohot’s Limera1n bootrom exploit which has already pwned all current iOS devices for life.

The only problem is that it is a tethered jailbreak, which means you will have to boot it into a “jailbroken state” using a tool like Redsn0w on every reboot.

P0sixninja has announced that the Chronic Dev-Team will update their Greenpois0n jailbreak utility within a few days. Read more…
