How to Enable FaceTime Video Calling on Your iPhone 3GS - FaceIt-3GS Tutorial

FaceIt-3Gs Tweak from Cydia is now available for download and install. This tutorial will show you how to install FaceIt-3Gs from Cydia on your iPhone 3Gs to enable the Apple FaceTime on your device.

Yesterday I wrote an article on the new Cydia tweak called FaceIt-3GS that will enable the Apple FaceTime on a jailbroken iPhone 3GS. The folks over at iPhoneIslam have released FaceIt-3GS and it is now available for all you iPhone 3Gs users out there.

I have personally tried out this tweak and can confirm that FaceIt-3GS does work and you can make Video phone calls from your iPhone 3Gs using the rear iPhone camera (The only camera 3GS is equipped with)

FaceTime is Coming Soon to a Jailbroken iPhone 3GS Near You ! [Video]

Hey all iPhone 3Gs users, are you feeling left out with the whole “Apple Face Time” thing? Don’t worry about it because guys at “iPhone Islam dot com” have a fix for you and it will be available via Cydia in couple of days.

The app or this tweak will be called “FaceIt-3G” and it will be offered for free of charge through Cydia. Currently the iPhone Islam team is working on testing and getting rid of all the bugs in this release but the main thing they are still working in is the use of the rear camera on the iPhone 3Gs.

Obviously iPhone 3GS is now equipped with a front camera so only the rear camera will be used on the iPhone 3Gs with this tweak. Read more…

Apple Brings FaceTime to the Mac

During the Apple’s October Back to the Mac Event the company has announced the public beta of FaceTime for Mac, an entirely new application that allows Mac users to video call iPhone 4 and iPod touch users as well as other Macs.

Featuring an easy to use interface, FaceTime for Mac automatically uses your Address Book contacts so there’s no need to create special buddy lists, and it works seamlessly with the built-in camera and mic on Mac notebooks, iMac and Apple LED Cinema Displays.

“FaceTime makes video calling to or from mobile devices easy for the first time,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’ve sold more than 19 million FaceTime-ready iPhone 4 and iPod touch devices in the past four months, and now those users can make FaceTime calls with tens of millions of Mac users.” Read more…

New iPod Touch With Facetime, Retina Display, Front and Back Cameras introduced by Steve Jobs

At the Apple’s September Music Event today, Steve Jobs has announced  the new iPod touch which features a Retina display, FaceTime video calling, HD video recording, Apple’s A4 chip, 3-axis gyro, iOS 4.1 and Game Center—all combined in the thinnest and lightest iPod touch ever. The new iPod touch features up to 40 hours of music playback and seven hours of video playback on a single battery charge.
