Last week, Comex, the developer behind the Spirit jailbreak, gave us a preview of Frash, which is nothing less but Flash for Android ported to the iPad.

Today it seems someone released a .deb of Frash, and while Comex is not opposed to it, you’ve got to understand it’s just an alpha version.

This tutorial will show you how to install Frash/Flash on a jailbroken iPad.

Step 1: Make sure your iPad is jailbroken. If not, jailbreak your iPad using Spirit.

Step 2: Download Frash.deb. For legal reasons, I cannot link to the file but a Google search can go a long way, if you know what I mean… (TIP: Search for Frash-0.01.deb or Frash.deb)

Step 3: SSH into your iPad and navigate to /var/root/Media.

If you don’t know what SSH means or if you have never used it please Read This article before going forward with this tutorial.

Step 4: In the Media folder, create a folder called “Cydia”. Open the Cydia folder you just created and create another folder called “AutoInstall”.

Step 5: Upload Frash.deb to the AutoInstall folder.

Step 6: Reboot your iPad a few times.

Done! Now navigate to any site that uses Flash. You should see the red F logo where Flash is played.

Tap the logo and the Flash animation will start playing
Again, this is just an alpha version that wasn’t even officially released by Comex.

You may want to try it just for fun if you dare. I suspect it will be posted in a repo on Cydia soon so you may want to wait for that.

Currently there is a small problem running iPhone Applications on iPad due to the dimensions of the iPhone GUI applications being a lot smaller than the screen on your iPad.

I’m sure you have tried using iPhone apps on iPad and found out quick enough that the GUI of the app is smaller than the screen and it looks somewhat ridiculous on your new iPad.

There is a very small but very effective utility/tweek in Cydia called FullForce which will let you run all/any your iPhone applications in fullscreen iPad compatibility mode.

There are couple of ways to get your iPhone apps to run in iPad compatibility mode using SSH and Addjusting some of your system files/code in your device and there is an easy way which we will show you here. Ryan Petrich has released a tweak in Cydia to make the process much easier.

Once you install FullForce, simply open your Settings.app, select FullForce from the Extensions list, and use the switches to set compatibility mode for whichever apps you choose.

You can download FullForce from the Big Boss Cydia repository or in plain English; Once you open Cydia on your Jailbroken iPad, search for “FullForce” and then install it.

For the sake of this tutorial I will be using iFile App from Cydia as an example to show you exactly what I mean by the “iPad Compatibility mode”.

Open Cydia and Search for “FullForce”, once found, Install it on your iPad.

Once you install it you will not see an icon on your Screen/Springboard… You will have to go to SETTINGS App in order to see it.

Before we go into SETTINGS and start settings toggles I would like to show you what iFile looks like on iPad screen without the FullForce or the iPad compatibility mode (See screenshot below). The iPhone version of iFile or any other type of App or a Game just looks abnormal because it is small and it’s placed in the middle of the screen…

OK… Now that I have showed you what the iPhone app looks like on the iPad I would like you to go to SETTINGS and click on “FullForce” under the EXTENSIONS section.

Once you select the FullForce you will see all your installed iPhone App which you can run in iPad Compatibility Mode. In my case and example above I have the “iFile” selected, but you can select any App you wish to run in full iPad Compatibility Mode (Select them ALL if you wish).

Once you select all the TOGGLES to “ON” positions on all desired iPhone apps, hit the HOME button. Now run any iPhone App and you will see the App or a Game running if full iPad Compatibility Mode / Full Screen.

Look at the iFile App / GUI after being selected in the FullForce extension… Looks much better doesn’t it? Good Luck and Enjoy your iPad and iPhone apps in Full iPad Compatibility Mode.

Hackulous has released the Installous 3.1 which has full support the Apple latest and greatest toy the iPad. Of course you must have a Jailbroken iPad in order to install this Installer.

This version of Installous 3.1 allows you to browse through IPA database of the Apptrackr.org (Biggest and cleanest IPA download site) and download and install any IPA file directly onto your iPad without connecting it to the iTunes. Here is the tutorial on how to use the Installous 3.1 to download and install cracked IPA files.

INSTALLOUS IS UPDATED TO 3.1.2

The new version 3.1.2 brings support for iPad, along with a brand new user interface and a download manager
which supports multiple files download at once.

Before I will write about the Installous you need to make sure you have your prerequisites completed so if you don’t have Hackulous Source in your device you need to add it and install AppSync.

You will have to do this before you read the second part about Installous 3.1

First thing you need to do is make sure you have a Jailbroken device… (NOTE: Illustrated step by step tutorial on info below can be found here)

1. Open Cyida (NOTE: If you have just jailbroken your device, make sure you RESTART it before trying to install AppSync)
2. Click on the Manage Tab at the bottom and then Sources Button
3. Add the hackulo.us source (http://cydia.hackulo.us)
4. While in Cydia, tap on Search and search for AppSync or Just tap on the newly added source to see all the Packages from it. Tap on the AppSync for OS 3.2
5. Install “Appsync for OS 3.2″ on your iPad and make sure you restart after the installation is complete
6. Enjoy! Now you can just drag and drop files to your iTunes and Sync your iPad or use Installous 3.1 to download and install IPA files directly onto the iPad.

Here comes the Installous 3.1 installation and overview.

Go back into Cydia, click on Manage Tab at the bottom of screen and then tap on Sources Button. You should see Hackulo.us source at the top of the screen. Tap on this source.

Tap on Installous package and install it. You will see the INSTALL button at the top right corner of the screen. On the next screen you will see CONFIRM button. Tap on it and let this package install. Once the package installs you will be asked to GO BACK TO CYDIA. You can do so or just hit the HOME button.

On your springboard you will see “Installous” icon, tap on it to open this application. When the Installous opens up, tap on the SETTINGS button located at the top right cornet and set toggles to ON positions for Install Automatically, Native Installation and Only Show iPad Apps.

Now the screen on the left should only show iPad Apps and Games on it. Select the App you want to download and install. On the right side of the screen you will see the description of the game or app you selected, including the screenshots, additional info, etc. at the top of the description screen you will see the DOWNLOAD button… Tap it to download and install selected IPA / Game or App. You will also see the download site/server where you will be downloading the IPA from; select any server you see. (appscene.Org is very popular)

After you select the desired server from which you will download the IPA file from you will see the following screen (see below) where you will have to either enter a “captcha” or click on download link again depending on a server you’re downloading from.

Now the DOWNLOAD screen will disappear, if you want to see the download progress you can click/tap on the DOWNLOADS button located at the top left corner of the description screen. You will see the progress bar and / or if the app was installed.

You will see a checkmark if and when the download is completed. See screenshot below. After the download is completed and your IPA file (Game or App) is installed you can hit the HOME button to get out of the Installous app. Your IPA/Game/App should be on your springboard. Enjoy your Cracked IPA files.

Today / This morning Apple has confirmed that they are going to fix the WiFi issue which has been problematic for some iPad users ever since its launch.

Many iPad users have been complaining about the WiFi connection on iPad doing some crazy things like not letting them join hotspots, and providing weak signal strength and so on.

Right after the release of the iPad (WiFi Version) Apple acknowledged the issue and provided some very simple workarounds but that didn’t help many.

And now Apple is finally coming up with a new software update which would hopefully fix the whole WiFi dilemma. The update will include:

- Updating Wi-Fi router firmware
- Using WPA or WPA2 wireless security
- Adjusting screen brightness
- Renewing  IP Address

This update will come out pretty soon so keep your eyes on the update screens when you connect your iPad to the iTunes.

As always; Don’t update your iPad to this firmware if you want to keep your Jailbreak. ANY Firmware updates will delete the Jailbreak and most likely patch the exploit hole.

You have been warned. Stay away from iPad updates until we confirm whether it’s safe to update or not.

Well, George Hotz (a.k.a. Geohot) has done it again!!! He managed to Jailbreak the Apple iPad that was released 11 days ago.

In a tweet posted today, he showed verbose mode running on his iPad.

Yesterday Geohot posted keys to decrypt iPhone 3.2 for iPad. These keys allows you to decrypt iPad .ipsw files so that you can explore it for exploits. Today he has Jailbroken his iPad…

The fact that Geohot has managed to boot into verbose mode confirms that the iPad has been hacked… Now we have to sit back and wait for the tools to come out so that we can all jailbreak our iPads.

Last year and for the last couple of months, there were lot of speculations about the Apple’s upcoming tablet device. Some of them were controversial and some were legit but the at the end of the day Apple came through once again and made something more advanced than anything out there.
