iOS 4.2 Delayed Due to Serious Wi-Fi Problem? November 16th is the new Release Date

It seems that the Apple iOS 4.2 release which was scheduled for today, has once again been postponed. Originally, the iOS 4.2 from Apple was scheduled for 5 November, then there have been reports about the release of the new Apple Mac OS X 10.6.5 and iTunes 10.1 on November 10, and iOS 4.2 today, on Nov. 12.

As you know Mac OS X 10.6.5 came out in time and there is no issue with it, but the iTunes 10.1 has not yet been released by Apple to general public and as you all know new Apple iTunes 10.1 is a requirement a the new iOS 4.2 firmware.

According to some very creditable sources there is a serious Wi-Fi issue within the new Apple iOS 4.2 and that is why Apple  might be delaying the release of iOS 4.2 until November 16th.

Apple iTunes Connect Service will be Closed for the Holidays, December 23rd to 28th

iTunes Connect Will Be Closed December 23-28

Apple has informed developers that iTunes Connect will be temporarily closed from December 23rd to December 28th.

I’m sure it will piss off a lot of developers, but I guess thats one of the drawbacks of being an Apple developer, you are on Apple’s leash at all times and have to do what they say.

I think the bad thing about this closing is the fact that developers will not be able to make any changes to their apps while the iTunes Connect is down so if something goes wrong with one of their apps, the developer will have to wait until December 28th to fix any issues.

This does not affect app consumers in anyway but as I stated above, since the iTunes Connect service will be unavailable  it will not allow developers to make changes to or submit any new apps during that time frame. Read more…

Google Founders Wanted Steve Jobs As Their First CEO

Hey guys, did you know that the first person Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin wanted to hire as their CEO was Steve Jobs, according to Bloomberg’s Game Changers series. I have included the link to the entire video / store on how Google has started and their entire company history starting from just being university students to today’s top billionaires.

The discovery comes from Bloomberg’s documentary series “Game Changers” which features the life stories of influential people from the technology, finance, politics “industry”. One such person is, of course, Steve Jobs himself who really needs no formal introduction to readers of iPhone Techie.

Yahoo news reports that after interviewing 12 or 13 candidates they didn’t like, Page and Brin happened to make something of a social visit to Apple and Jobs.

After the visit, the Google cofounders met with investor John Doerr and asked him: why can’t we hire that guy? Read more…
