Apple has posted the Verizon iPhone 4 firmware to its servers for public download for Verizon iPhone 4 owners ofcourse.

You can download the iOS 4.2.6 firmware right now directly from Apple here is the link to it here. One of the iPhone Dev-Team members MuscleNerd has posted the keys for anyone who’s interested.

I’m not sure what you would do with this firmware right now but it is available. This is the time to start taking it apart and looking for clues and exploits. It almost seems Apple does this on purpose every time.

The iPhone Dev-Team has released a new version of redsn0w that can jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 and install custom bundles independent of Cydia.

Please note that this version of Redsn0w is meant for developers only and does not install the new version of Cydia. This version of Redsn0w is also tethered for newer devices and that means whenever your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch is dead or turned off it would have to be re-jailbroken again via Redsn0w.

If you’re on the road and your iPhone has to be restarted you will have to re-jailbreak it again and again EVERY TIME you shut your iDevice OFF or if your Battery Dies.

The iPhone Dev-Team has confirmed that RedSn0w 0.9.6b2 can jailbreak iOS 4.2 GM Seed; however, they warn it should only be attempted by advanced users.

Today Apple released to developers the GM seed for 4.2. Tinkerers will find that yesterday’s redsn0w jailbreaks today’s 4.2 GM seed, simply by pointing redsn0w at the 4.1 IPSW (rather than the 4.2 one).

The iPhone Dev Team has just released an updated version 0.9.6b2 of Redsn0w which is based on Geohot’s limera1n exploit and it can jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad (on iOS 3.2.2) and iPod touch 4G / 3G / 2G (Non MC Model only).

In addition, this new version includes custom boot land recovery logos for the older devices like iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) iPod touch 2G (Non MC), and iPhone 3G.

This will let Windows users restore to a custom IPSW that were reated using PwnageTool for Mac. Up to this point only Mac users could create and restore to a Custom IPSW files using the PwnageTool but now with the released of new version of Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 you can restore to a custom IPSW file without upgrading your basebands. Hey guys, I think the Jailbreaking community is finally moving forward with the Jailbreak for all A4 Apple iDevices.

We now have (i Hope) a way to Jailbreak all future Apple iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices with the exploits shared by Chronic Dev Team and the Famous “Egoistical” GeoHot and of course the Userland Famous exploit by Comex,

The iPhone Dev-Team may have found a method to jailbreak all future firmware versions for iDevices with the A4 chip. So what does it mean to you/for you? Simple this; if you have an iPhone 4, iPad or the newest iPod Touch, you will be able to Jailbreak it everytime Apple comes out with new firmware update.

Finally, Redsn0w 0.9.6 is now available for Windows. You can use it to jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G on iOS 4.1.

The iPhone Dev-Team has released an update to the Windows version of RedSn0w which can jailbreak the iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G on iOS 4.1. Be sure and read all instructions and every little detail before doing any Jailbreaking on your iPhone.

First of all, I have some BAD news for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod touch 3G owners… The new SHAtter Jailbreak is only going to work with new fourth generation A4 Apple Devices and will not work with any Apple Devices released prior to iPhone 4 and iPad…(Which are iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 3G, etc.)

MuscleNerd has confirmed that SHAtter exploit and GreenPois0n tool are only for the fourth-gen A4 devices like iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G, and iPad. It is not going to work on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod touch 3G.

Even though Chronic Dev Team hasn’t announced whether the SHAtter based GreenPois0n tool will be TETHERED or UNTETHERED yet.

But if this tweet from the well known Cydia developer is anything to go by, GreenPois0n is most likely going to be an untethered jailbreak for all iOS devices, including iPhone 4, iPad, iPod touch 4G and Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.1. Read more…

Members of the iPhone Dev Team have dropped hints on Twitter that it will be possible to jailbreak the new Apple TV.

Team members pod2g and iPhone-Dev have both mentioned that the SHAtter exploit has been able to decrypt the Apple TV’s firmware’s keys. While Apple TVs are not yet in people’s hands, the firmware is available from Apple’s public distribution servers.

Team Member MuscleNerd also warned potential jailbreakers via Twitter: “Those interested in *potential* AppleTV JBs, better buy early! Remember iPhone 3GS hardware was updated to fix JB hole.” Indeed, Apple has already released a firmware update for the Apple TV, though we don’t know if it addresses this exploit. Read more…

iOS 4.1 was hacked and exploit was found hours after Apple released it on Wednesday September 8th. This exploit will work with iPhone 4, iPad, iPod Touch (New 4G) so don’t worry, the Jailbreak release for iOS 4.1 is imminent.

I’m not sure if you guys heard this or not but the iPhone hacker pod2g who is part of the Chronic Dev Team and also  the same person who previously found the 24kpwn exploit has successfully managed to find another bootrom based exploit which can jailbreak all iOS based devices on the latest iOS 4.1 firmware.

And this means is that the next jailbreak is going to be based on bootrom exploit which unlike JailbreakMe will enable users to change boot and recovery mode logos among many other things and also could mean that it will be TETHERED or UNTETHERED.
