iPhone Dev-Team / MuscleNerd Updates RedSn0w to Resolve Issue With MobileSubstrate

December 29th, 2011 No comments

The iPhone Dev-Team has updated RedSn0w to resolve a problem with MobileSubstrate that occurred when rerunning the jailbreak.

The b3 version of redsn0w fixes a problem where re-running redsn0w over an existing jailbreak would cause MobileSubstrate-based apps to stop running until MS was installed again. Now you can re-run the redsn0w jailbreak step without worrying about that (but still remember to de-select the “Install Cydia” option if it’s already installed).

Redsn0w 0.9.7 Beta 6 Brings Skype Fix, Next Version Will Use 4.1 SHSH Blobs Instead Of 4.2b3 For 4.2.1 Untether

Hey guys, yet another version of the Redsn0w 0.9.7 Beta 6 was released by the iPhone Dev-Team and this version fixes all Skype related issues which were hampering users ever since the first beta of this untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak.

The iPhone Dev-Team has updated RedSn0w to fix issues with Skype after performing the ‘backup plan’ untether.

The sixth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). This version fixes Skype (and as expected all along, the Skype issue turns out to be unrelated to sandbox patches). Please do not pirate the 4.2b3 IPSW! Only those enrolled in the iPhone Developer program have legitimate access to that IPSW using these links (the links won’t work unless you’re a legit developer currently logged in). Read more…

What You Need to Know Before iOS 4.2 is Released

Up to this point there were many rumors about the new Apple iOS 4.2 and many predictions were way off up to this point but there is a very good possibility the new Apple iOS 4.2 will be released this Friday along with the new updated iTunes version 10.1 which is a requirement for the iOS 4.2 Firmwares.

New Jailbreak for the iOS 4.2 will be available for all iDevices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and of course the new Apple TV) but before you jump the gun and update your iDevice to this version you should read this article and take some precautions as well.

The new iOS 4.2 Firmware version will bring a huge update to the iPad with features such as: Multitasking, Folders, Game Center, New Search and Finder for the Safari Browser, AirPrint (With AirPrint you will be able to print Mail/Photos/Web pages directly to any printer on WiFi network) and AirPlay (Stream Media to Apple TV / AirPlay speakers)

The iPhone Dev-Team has issued a statement in advance of Apple releasing iOS 4.2 to the public. Please read the following carefully to ensure you will be able to retain your untethered jailbreak and unlock into iOS 4.2.

iPhone Dev-Team will Release PwnageTool 4.1 for iPhone 4 Jailbreak on iOS 4.1, Apple TV 2G this Sunday!

October 12th, 2010 No comments

Pwnage Tool for Mac is coming this Sunday from iPhone Dev Team

Today MuscleNerd has tweeted that the iPhone Dev-Team is planning to release PwnageTool for iOS 4.1 by Sunday.

For AppleTV 2G users, the goal is for PwnageTool to cover you by Funday/Sunday (but still very limited app capability)

Two jailbreak utilities for iOS 4.1 have already been released. Limera1n and Greenpois0n. Unfortunately, both Jailbreak Solutions / Tools are for Windows only. Mac versions are said to be coming soon; however, that date can’t come soon enough for many users. A lot of Mac users are dying to jailbreak their devices so if you are a Mac user there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you.

PwnageTool has previously been a Mac only tool. This release should also bring the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad jailbreak to Mac users. Read more…

SHAtter Jailbreak for ALL Apple iDevices is Growing and will become reality soon enough

SHAtter Jailbreak for all devices for EVER

Just a quick little heads-up chronic-dev, the guys behind the SHAtter Jailbreak just added a new update in the official blog, confirmed that they are making steady progress with the new jailbreak tool, also they have been much asked about the release date but till now they still can”t give an estimate for this date.

SHAttered Jailbreak solution will Jailbreak all existing devices forever as it’s a bootrombased jailbreak which acts on the hardware of the device.

Unfortunately, there’s a semi-confirm floating on the web today. p0sixninja may be sending a message to tell people that SHAtter is a tethered jailbreak (i.e. you will be required to connect your iOS device to your computer on every reboot). Read more…

iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Using New Bootrom Based Exploit was found on the same day after Apple released the iOS 4.1

iOS 4.1 Exploit has been found, Bootrom low level exploit

iOS 4.1 was hacked and exploit was found hours after Apple released it on Wednesday September 8th. This exploit will work with iPhone 4, iPad, iPod Touch (New 4G) so don’t worry, the Jailbreak release for iOS 4.1 is imminent.

I’m not sure if you guys heard this or not but the iPhone hacker pod2g who is part of the Chronic Dev Team and also  the same person who previously found the 24kpwn exploit has successfully managed to find another bootrom based exploit which can jailbreak all iOS based devices on the latest iOS 4.1 firmware.

And this means is that the next jailbreak is going to be based on bootrom exploit which unlike JailbreakMe will enable users to change boot and recovery mode logos among many other things and also could mean that it will be TETHERED or UNTETHERED.

Here is what members of iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team had tweeted on their Twitter profiles; Read more…

iOS 4.1 Jailbreak will be coming out by iPhone Dev-Team

Couple of days ago I wrote about the new iOS 4.1 firmware update release by Apple and the fact it will be released next week, Wednesday September 8th. As you all know currently there is no Jailbreak or Unlock solution for the new iOS 4.0.2 or the iOS 4.1.

Dev-Team didn’t want to waste the possible exploit on the minor update which was the iOS 4.0.2 so I wrote an Article about that as well. You can read it here. Instead of wasting another exploit on a minor update (4.0.2 and 3.2.2) the iPhone Dev-Team will focus on finding a new exploit which could be used on the next major firmware update i.e. iOS 4.1.

Today, Dev-Team The iPhone Dev-Team member MuscleNerd comfirmed that Comex is Read more…

The iPhone Dev-Team has updated their blog with a statement that clearly reads that they will not be releasing a Jailbreak for the iOS 4.0.2 or iPad iOS 3.2.2.

Instead of wasting another exploit on a minor update (4.0.2 and 3.2.2) the iPhone Dev-Team will focus on finding a new exploit which could be used on the next major firmware update i.e. iOS 4.1. Read more…
