Downgrade Baseband / Modem Firmware 06.15.00 to 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, or 05.13.04 and Unlock with Ultrasn0w

You Will Soon Be Able to Downgrade Baseband 06.15.00 to 05.15.04 on iPhone 3GS / 3G

Those of you who recently unlocked their iPhones running iOS 4.2.1 or 4.1 know that the process wasn’t as straightforward as we expected.

All theses days you have been told that, Baseband cant be downgraded right? Well, it looks like that is going to change. Yeah! You heard that right. Soon, you should be able to downgrade your baseband.

The latest UltraSn0w unlock works for the iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS with baseband 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, or 05.13.04. It also works with iPhone 4 with baseband 01.59.00. But if you’re iPhone is on a different baseband, you have to upgrade to 06.15.00, either using RedSn0w or PwnageTool.

This new unlock doesn’t come without its share of issues, with battery drain for some of us, and/or GPS issues for others. Fortunately, it seems the Dev Team is working on a baseband downgrade method, which would make the unlock process easier, and safer…

From what I understand, the goal would be to allow an iPhone with the 4.2.1 baseband to be downgraded to 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, or 05.13.04, to then use UltraSn0w to unlock. Apparently, this baseband downgrade method might also work for baseband 06.15.00. Read more…

Dowgrade iPad iOS 4.1Downgrade iPhone iOS 4.1

Hey guys, since Apple has released the new iOS 4.1 to public yesterday I’m sure some of you (many of you) have updated their iPhones, iPads or iPod Touch devices to the newest Firmware and have lost the jailbreak.

Just so you know (FYI) at the moment there is no jailbreak available for iPhones and iPod Touch Devices iOS 4.1

In addition to that, Apple has already stopped signing the iOS 4.0.1 firmware Restore files. And what that means is this; You can NOT restore any firmware other than 4.1 with your iPhone or iPod Touch and / or to 3.2.2 for the iPad unless you have saved your SHSH blobs on Cydia.

If any of you have accidentally updated to the latest iOS 4.1 and lost you Jailbreak I have a solution for you… As long as you saved your SHSH blobs on Cydia Server you can go back to iOS 4.0.1 or lower by following the following step by step guide on how to downgrade your iPhone or iPod Touch iOS 4.1 back to to 4.0.1 or lower and the same goes for the iPad.

Downgrade iPhone 4 without SHSH?

I will start of with saying; I didn’t try this method and this is unconfirmed at this point but you can give it a try if you have nothing to lose.

A user named CodeBlue has discovered an unconfirmed method that may allow you to downgrade your 4.0.2 iPhone to 4.0.1, jailbreak, patch the safari exploit with Saurik’s patch and be jailbroken safely.

This may be your only option if you have an out of the box iphone with 4.0.2 on it and no other way to jailbreak. Once again… I did not try these steps. They sound good to me in theory and others are reporting some success. After all, you have nothing to lose if you are already stuck on 4.0.2 without an SHSH in Cydia so why not try it and let us know about it? Read more…
