Due to few issues with some of the native iPhone 4 Apps such as “FaceTime” the new SPIRIT Jailbreak is delayed until further notice…

Some people thought the new Jailbreak will be released today… (Why? – We didn’t hear anything like that)… anyways… MuscleNerd has confirmedthat the new jailbreak wont be released today once again because they are still trying to work out some bugs that cause problems after the Jailbreak.

Not to make it a daily thing, but since somehow people thought it would be today: the new JB+unlock won’t be out today

(there are issues with important apps like Facetime that need to be figured out…no sense releasing a half-broken JB)

Comex has announced through Twitter that he is not waiting for iOS 4.1 to release his new Spirit jailbreak.

I’m not waiting for 4.1 so I hope everyone has SHSH blobs saved. :p

SHSH blobs for 4.0.1 or 4.0 are fine; AFAIK there are no substantive differences except the bars

It is imperative that you save your SHSH blobs using the Firmware Umbrealla

Once the jailbreak is out you will be able to unlock your phones using UltraSn0w. The iPhone Dev-Team has announced that they will be adding the iPhone 4 unlock to ultrasn0w as well.

Long needed iOS 3.2.1 update for iPad (WiFi and 3G) has just been released by Apple to fix and improve the WiFi connectivity issue.

iPad WiFi and 3G users who currently love their Jailbroken iPad MUST STAY THE HELL AWAY from this update (iOS 3.2.1) until the new Jailbreak is available from Dev-Team or Comex.

Updating to iOS 3.2.1 WILL result in update of the existing 3.2 Firmware / OS, which will patch the exploit on your iPad, so you WILL lose your jailbreak.

You wont be able to Jailbreak it until a new exploit is found and/or Jailbreak Tool is released. At this point the new jailbreak is not ready so you will be out of luck for a little bit. Here is what Comex said on his twitter account.

Comex: 3.2.1 and 4.0.1 out. if you want an unlock, DO NOT UPDATE. No, the jailbreak is not ready yet.

Apple iOS 3.2.1 for iPad contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following:

● Improved Wi-Fi connectivity
● Fixed an issue that could prevent copy and paste of single-page PDF attachments in Mail
● Addressed an issue that could cause video playback to freeze
● Improved reliability of video-out when using iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter
● Added Bing as an option for Safari’s search field

If you don’t care about Jailbreaking your iPad then to update to iOS 3.2.1 for iPad, all you need to do is to connect your iPad with your computer via USB and start iTunes.

You should now see a message window stating that there is an update available for your iPad and asking you if you would like to upgrade to it (iOS 3.2.1).

Simply click on “Download and Install” button to get on to the new iOS 3.2.1 firmware

Well the rumored iOS 4.0.1 has just been released by Apple for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G to fix the reception issues for iPhone 4 users.

iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G users who currently rely on their unlock MUST STAY THE HELL AWAY from this update (iOS 4.0.1) until the dev-team releases some sort article on their site, twitter, etc. or a new Jailbreak tool.

Updating to iOS 4.0.1 from earlier versions (i.e. 3.1.2, 3.1.3, etc.) WILL result in update of baseband to new Modem Firmware 05.13.04, which will lock your phone. The ulrasn0w unlock will work on it but the problem is getting to the unlock… If there is no Jailbreak, there is no unlock…

If you don’t care about Jailbreaking and / or unlocking your iPhone then to update to iOS 4.0.1 for iPhone, all you need to do is to connect your iPhone with your computer via USB and start iTunes.

Long wait for the major update is finally over, Apple has released iOS 4.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch via iTunes.

Today / This morning Apple has confirmed that they are going to fix the WiFi issue which has been problematic for some iPad users ever since its launch.

Many iPad users have been complaining about the WiFi connection on iPad doing some crazy things like not letting them join hotspots, and providing weak signal strength and so on.

Right after the release of the iPad (WiFi Version) Apple acknowledged the issue and provided some very simple workarounds but that didn’t help many.

And now Apple is finally coming up with a new software update which would hopefully fix the whole WiFi dilemma. The update will include:

- Updating Wi-Fi router firmware
- Using WPA or WPA2 wireless security
- Adjusting screen brightness
- Renewing  IP Address

This update will come out pretty soon so keep your eyes on the update screens when you connect your iPad to the iTunes.

As always; Don’t update your iPad to this firmware if you want to keep your Jailbreak. ANY Firmware updates will delete the Jailbreak and most likely patch the exploit hole.

If you care about your jailbreak and unlock, don’t update your device - 3G and 3G(S) owners should pay particular attention to this warning

Apple just released OS 3.1.3, which you can download right now through iTunes. The new firmware update (3.1.3) was pushed on Tuesday February 2nd, 2010 for all iPhone and iPod touch users which brought some important security and bug fixes.

Features wise, there was nothing new to be seen in the firmware. The only new features mentioned are improved reporting of battery level on the iPhone 3G S, fixes for problems with the Japanese Kana keyboard, and some issues where third-party apps would fail to launch.

Since this firmware updates the baseband to 05.12.01 on iPhone 3GS and 3G, so do not update your device (iPhone or iTouch) to this firmware if you want to preserve your unlock on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.

Upgrading to new iPhone firmware OS version 3.1.3 would break existing jailbreak and unlock. iPhone and iPod touch owners who jailbreak and unlock their device should not upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.3.

To upgrade iPhone and iPod Touch just connect the mobile device to PC and start iTunes. You would get the update message message automatically. Download the the individual standalone iPhone Firmware Update file (IPSW) for manual offline updating from our Firmware Downloads Page

The details on upcoming iPhone OS 4.0 have been leaked and now some of these details are posted on BoyGeniousReport.

Here are some of the details / iPhone OS 4.0 features according the their trusted source;

• There will be multi-touch gestures OS-wide. (Would make sense for that as the rumored OS for the iTablet is close if not the same as the iPhone)

• “A few new ways” to run applications in the background — multitasking.

• Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient. We haven’t had this broken down, but we can only hope for improved notifications, a refreshed homescreen, etc.

• The update will supposedly be available for only the iPhone 3G and 3GS, but will “put them ahead in the smartphone market because it will make them more like full-fledged computers” more than any other phone to date. Everyone is “really excited.”

• The last piece of information is the most vague, but apparently there will be some brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.

The upcoming iPhone OS 4.0 firmware is expected to be announced at Apple’s special event on January 27th

There is a rumor out that a new Firmware 3.1.3 is coming out for iPhones, and the iPhone 4.0 firmware version is also spotted. Is it coming out to the iPhone community anytime soon / in  the near future?

People at the BGR (Boy Genious Report) have found out references to iPhone 3.1.3, and the iPhone 4.0 firmware version in their server logs and they seems to be legitimate.

While iPhone 3.1.3 will only be a minor release with some minor bug fixes, etc., the 4.0 firmware will be a major release version and we can expect it to ship with the next-generation iPhone model sometime in summer of 2010.

We don’t know anything about the features that the new firmware is going to offer, but you can expect it to add alot of new features, kind of the same deals as when firmware 3.0 was released.

I personally think the 3.1.3 and 4.0 will be here before summer… Jailbreakers keep checking here and make sure you read our news before upgrading your devices.
