GeoHotz Will Be Releasing an Untethered Jailbreak After February 10th! When Verizon iPhone 4 Comes Out?

MuscleNerd recently tweeted to Pod2G, that he thinks GeoHotz will be releasing an untethered jailbreak for newer A4 iDevices after February 10th.

Could this mean that GeoHotz will be releasing the rumored RubyRa1n jailbreaking tool? I really don’t know but this is the second time MuscleNerd has tweeted about GeoHotz having an untethered jailbreak for newer iDevices (the first time being in the beginning of January). Read more…

Sony Takes Geohot and Fail0verfl0w Members to Court Over PS3 Jailbreak and Exploits going Public.

Our boy GeoHot also known as George Hotz is being sued by Sony Corporation for making PlayStation 3 exploits and jailbreak tools public.

It’s the latter topic that has finally gotten him in trouble after he released his hack for PS3 firmware version 3.55. Despite claiming on his site that he condones piracy and the hack should not be used to disable key features, Sony has finally had enough and issued a lawsuit.

Sony has just filed a restraining order against Geohot and members of team fail0verflow for jailbreaking the Sony Playstation 3 and making this exploit available to general public.

Defendants George Hotz, “Bushing,” Hector Cantero, Sven Peter and “Segher” (collectively, “Defendants”) are computer hackers. Working individually and in concert with one another, Defendants recently bypassed effective technological protection measures (“TPMs”) employed by plaintiff Sony Computer Entertainment America LLP (“SCEA”) in its proprietary PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system (“PS3 System”). Rubyra1n Untethered Exploit For iOS 4.2.1 by GeoHot Coming Out

This is very interesting, I think GeoHot is starting to surface again with another Jailbreak Solution called Rubyra1n which will be Untethered.

According to a recent tweet from MuscleNerd (iPhone Dev-Team) it looks like GeoHot actually has “Untethered” solution for iOS 4.2.1 but it doesn’t cover ALL Apple devices.

Also, GeoHot (a.k.a. George Hotz) had registered a domain named rubyra1n.com, which is now a discussion subject. He registered the domain via GoDaddy back on March 27th 2010.

What’s even more interesting is this: limera1n.com and rubyra1n.com were BOTH registered on the same day. (see Whois Info below) Read more…

Limera1n Jailbreak Geohot Exploit

Come to find out our boy Geohot has another untethered jailbreak exploit that he held back from Limera1n to prevent Apple from learning about it.

Incase you were wondering why Geohot used a userland exploit from Comex to make Limera1n untethered, it was because he did not wanted to waste his untethered version of bootrom exploit.

Both Comex and MuscleNerd has confirmed that Geohot has in his possession a new untethered bootrom level exploit which can be used to pwn future iOS devices like iPhone 5 and iPad 2G for life. Read more…

Geohot Prepping LimeSn0w Unlock for iOS 4.1? Will the Limera1n have an Update soon to include Limesn0w Unlock for iPhones?

Limesn0w Unlock for iOS 4.1 by Geohot in Limera1n?

Past couple of days were just nutts… With the new Limera1n Jailbreak released by Geohot the next big question people have been asking is, where is the unlock? It seems we may be getting it sooner than we expected, the video below explains it all.

The new Limera1n Jailbreak will be equipped with new “Snow” unlock? This is all happening very fast so I’m not sure if this video is real of fake but watch it and let me know what you think.

The video shows new Unlock as the LimeSn0w which looks very credible and 100% similar to the previously released unlock (by GeoHot) called BlackSn0w.

It is recommended if you jailbroke your iPhone or iPad with the Limera1n Jailbreak to keep the Limera1n tear drop installer as the unlock might show up later down the road as an option to install. Read more…

All about the jailbreak and unlock iOS 4.1: GreenPois0n, SHAtter, Limera1n, Ultrasn0w

As it was announced, a new Jailbreak Tool “GreenPois0n” will be released this Sunday 10/10/2010 at 10:10:10 (This day is also known as “funday” in the jailbreak comunity). This Jailbreak Tool / GreenPois0n will be released by the Chronic Dev Team not the iPhone Dev Team but many devs from Chronic and iPhone Dev Team are working together on this Jailbreak.

In the last days or even weeks people had a lot of questions regarding the exploit called SHAtter, a tool for jailbreaking GreenPois0n which will be Untethered and will also Hacktivate your iPhone or iPad.

Let me be clear and let you know what really is going on and I will also talk about the return of the famous iPhone hacker “GeoHot” / George Hotz to the jailbreak scene. Why is he back? Why did he use another exploit (waste of an exploit) Read more…

SHAtter Jailbreak for all devices for EVER

Just a quick little heads-up chronic-dev, the guys behind the SHAtter Jailbreak just added a new update in the official blog, confirmed that they are making steady progress with the new jailbreak tool, also they have been much asked about the release date but till now they still can”t give an estimate for this date.

SHAttered Jailbreak solution will Jailbreak all existing devices forever as it’s a bootrombased jailbreak which acts on the hardware of the device.

Unfortunately, there’s a semi-confirm floating on the web today. p0sixninja may be sending a message to tell people that SHAtter is a tethered jailbreak (i.e. you will be required to connect your iOS device to your computer on every reboot). Read more…
