Found another App today called PushMail by Simon Patarin… This app is very similar to the GPush for the GMail… Basically this App pushes notifications to your iPhone or iTouch every time you receive any emails.

With this App you can get your mail Gmail / MobileMe / university / business / and many others pushed to your iPhone or your iPod Touch!

PushMail pushes notifications to iPhones and iPod Touches when you receive emails. The application lets you register a username for the dopushmail.com domain after which each email sent to <yourusername>@dopushmail.com will push a notification to your device. All you need to do then is to redirect a *copy* of the emails for which you want to be notified to your @dopushmail.com address.

I don’t know if this missing link will last long. I have downloaded and tested the GPush and was not impressed with it at all. It was pretty easy to setup, all you have to do is just enter your Gmail username and password and that’s all there is to it, additional controls such as sounds and alert permissions can be set/controlled from the iPhone’s settings menu.

This App is .99 cents so it’s not that much money but if the App sucks then why spend your dollar? Here is what I found wrong with this app.

• It missed some of my new emails and sometimes showed already “read” emails.

• The Push itself doesn’t really look good, the screen pops up with “<<>>” on it and really looks ugly.

• I had to re-submit my credentials couple of times to finally get my Pushes…

• Once the notification comes through, User / You still have to manually launch the iPhone’s built in Mail App to actually download and read your email. If there was a button on the notification to actually open the email that just came through, it would have been a lot easier.

Overall, this GPush didn’t push crap… Maybe once they work out all the bugs out of it and come out with an Update or a Pro version it will be better but for now, I give it (1) Star.
