This morning I written about the upcoming iOS 4.2 and as you all know by now, Apple pushed out the iOS 4.2 Golden Master firmware release today for developers.

The iOS 4.2 “GM” stands for Gold Master and this firmware is ONLY available to Apple Developers however, if you want to give this iOS 4.2 GM a try then you can download it right now from multiple links I have provided for you in this article.

You will also need to update your iTunes to the iTunes 10.1 Beta 2 which is not yet available from Apple for public download but I have all the download links for the iTunes 10.1 Beta 2 for Mac OS X, Windows x86 and Windows x64 so you can update to the iOS 4.2 firmwares.

Apple has posted the new iOS 4.2 GM (Gold Master) Seed firmware, which can be downloaded form the iOS Dev Center.

Only members enrolled in the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program can access these bits by signing into iOS Dev Center (aka Apple Developer Connection).

The Firmware build is 8C134 and finally unifies the iOS of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. iOS 4.2 also brings multitasking and other 4.0 features to the iPad. Hopefully, iOS 4.2 will be released soon and include a fix for the daylight savings bug. Read more…
