Apple Updates iOS Push Notifications to Use 2048-bit Certificate

Apple has announced that it will begin using a more secure 2048-bit TLS/SSL certificate for push notifications starting December 22, 2010.

On December 22, 2010, the production Apple Push Notification service will begin to use a 2048-bit TLS/SSL certificate that provides a more secure connection between your provider server and the Apple Push Notification service.

Hotmail Push Notifications for iPhone this Monday

If you use the Hotmail for your emails and you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch you are in luck because I have some good news for you people.

According to CNET there was an interview that was held on Thursday with Microsoft’s Dharmesh Mehta who told CNET that Exchange ActiveSync, which will let Hotmail users get push e-mail on cell phones and other devices, will become available on Monday.

I guess Microsoft is following the Google suit by giving users the ability to receive push email on devices such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch. Read more…

Google Mobile App now supports Push Notifications

Google has yet pushed another update for its Google Mobile App for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch which now brings  a new push notifications feature for Gmail and Google Calendar. The updated Google Mobile App also features suggestions for search.
