These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone 3GS on the 4.3.3 firmware using RedSn0w for Windows. The Mac version of this tutorial is absolutely the same

Make sure not to update to iOS 4.3.3 if you need an unlock as one is not yet available unless you opt to use the iPad baseband.

IMPORTANT FOR UNLOCKERS

Hey guys, yet another version of the Redsn0w 0.9.7 Beta 6 was released by the iPhone Dev-Team and this version fixes all Skype related issues which were hampering users ever since the first beta of this untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak.

The iPhone Dev-Team has updated RedSn0w to fix issues with Skype after performing the ‘backup plan’ untether.

The sixth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). This version fixes Skype (and as expected all along, the Skype issue turns out to be unrelated to sandbox patches). Please do not pirate the 4.2b3 IPSW! As expected and promised, the iPhone Dev-Team has released a new version of RedSn0w 0.9.6b4 to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1.

As I told you guys before, this Resn0w 0.9.6b4  jailbreak is currently tethered for most devices except for the iPhone3G, older iPhone3GS, and non-MC iPod touch 2G. If you don’t know what that means then read my little explanation at the end of this post.

Comex is working on a way to untether the jailbreak for newer devices but it will require you to have your 4.1 SHSH blobs in order to use it. I have been telling all of you guys about saving your SHSH Blobs for weeks now… Unless you have your SHSH blobs saved you will not be able to have the Untethered Jailbreak.

Both Cydia (within redsn0w 0.9.6b4) and MobileSubstrate (install via Cydia) are now 4.2.1 compatible. Read more…

Finally, Redsn0w 0.9.6 is now available for Windows. You can use it to jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G on iOS 4.1.

The iPhone Dev-Team has released an update to the Windows version of RedSn0w which can jailbreak the iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G on iOS 4.1. Be sure and read all instructions and every little detail before doing any Jailbreaking on your iPhone.
