Downgrade 05.12.01 with Fuzzyband to 04.26.08

Many of you asked me if there was / is a way to downgrade iPhones from 05.12.01 back to 05.11.07 or 04.26.08.

Well there is one way to downgrade your basebands but it only works for 3G iPhones, if you have a 3Gs iPhone and you have upgraded to the latest 3.1.3 Firmware through iTunes, then your basebands were upgraded as well and at this point there is nothing you can do to unlock your device. Read more…

All O2 UK Customers can Unlock their iPhones for the use on other networks

iPhone Dev-Team Updates UltraSn0w Unlock Which Fixes the Missing Carrier Name

The iPhone Dev-Team has issued an update to the UltraSn0w unlock which fixes the disappearing carrier name issue.

UltraSn0w .92 was posted by MuscleNerd and uses an extra 10 lines of code to fix the carrier name. It is available on the normal repo666.ultrasn0w.com Cydia repository. Remember to use UltraSn0w you must be on the 04.26.08 baseband. Read more…

George Hotz (aka geohot), the kid who was the first to unlock the original iPhone back in 2007 and then iPhone 3GS in July of this year is back! This time he is the first one to release jailbreaking solution for the new iPhone 3.1.2 Firmware for all devices with his new program/tool called blackra1n. blackra1n is a software tool which can jailbreak all iPhone’s (iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS) and iPod Touch 2G and 3G running on the latest firmware / OS 3.1.2. NOTE: Blackra1n is only supported on Windows Operating Systems.

iTunes 9 – Jailbreakers You are SAFE (Upgrade!!!)

As many of you know on September 9th, 2009 Apple has came out with a new version of iTunes (iTunes 9)… Well along with that Apple also came out with the 3.1 OS Update for the iPhone and a lot of us / you had questions whether the RedSn0w 0.8 would be able to Jailbreak and Unlock the 3.1… The answer was / is “NO”, Dev Team is working on the 3.1 support for Jailbreak and Unlock for the iPhones and iTouches.

Here was another question that came up, this one is more relevant to this post… “If I have a Jailbroken / Unlocked iPhone or iTouch, can I upgrade to iTunes 9?” It was confirmed that YES you can upgrade to iTunes 9 if you’re iPhone is already Jailbroken and Unlocked. iPhone OS 3.1 Software Update is HERE – Jailbreakers DO NOT UPDATE!!!

If you update now you will likely lose your unlock and maybe even your jailbreak (iPhone 3GS). We will provide instructions once a safe upgrade path is available.
